"House" Chase TV Episode 2012

He starts the breast exam as she admits she's having second thoughts about it. Princeton Plainsboro's dreamy surgeon Dr. Robert Chase won our hearts with his Aussie charm, good looks, and golden hair. One of three original members of House's team, Chase periodically questioned his place as a doctor, as he was ultimately hand-picked after his well-known father, Dr. Chase Sr., made some influential calls to the hospital. In real life, actor Jesse Spencer also came from a family of doctors himself, with his dad, brothers, and sister all in practice.

As Lisa Edelstein left the show before season eight, after this incident Cuddy leaves the hospital and House never sees her again. Writers Doris Egan, Sara Hess, Russel Friend, and Garrett Lerner joined the team at the start of season two. Friend and Lerner, who are business partners, had been offered positions when the series launched, but turned the opportunity down. House (also called House, M.D.) is an American medical drama television series that originally ran on the Fox network for eight seasons, from November 16, 2004, to May 21, 2012. The series' premise originated with Paul Attanasio, while David Shore, who is credited as creator, was primarily responsible for conceiving the title character. Dr. Robert Chase was the diagnostic team's surgeon and intensive care (intensivist) specialist during the first three seasons.

Clinic Patient

His exit from the show unfolded in a tragic twist, leaving viewers startled. Wilde would later take a leave of absence to work on other projects, before briefly returning to the show. "She had this opportunity and she was really excited about it," executive producer Katie Jacobs shared with Entertainment Weekly. After leaving behind a successful plastic surgery practice, Chris Taub earned his fellowship with House through a series of games that spanned the first few episodes of Season 4. From that point onward, he remained as a major character throughout the rest of the show's run. Ever elusive, Taub would steadily develop into the one of very few voices of reason who'd stand up to House's often bizarre ideas.

House accuses him of being afraid of real intimacy and choosing someone for whom intimacy is not an option for emotional support. Chase denies any emotional involvement with the patient and says he has a date. Chase goes into an exam room but finds Taub hiding from House. Chase goes to leave, but instead asks Taub if his self-defence classes are working. Taub admits he has learned more from House's surprise attacks, and urges Chase to accept House's apology and rejoin the team. House suddenly pulls out a paintball gun, but the only target is Taub who deftly stops the paint with a metal tray.

Lisa Edelstein (Lisa Cuddy)

During the last day of the hearing, Dr. Colfield calls House brilliant but a fiasco; however, the patient's wife speaks up on House's behalf, saying House "saved my husband's life". At this point Colfield decides that House is an important part of the hospital and he would damage the hospital by sending him back to prison. Therefore, he rules that the accident was "nobody's fault". House before leaving accuses Colfield of being a coward; he then goes to see Chase, who is doing his rehabilitation exercises.

Find Care

Chase admits to Stacy that about an hour after the patient left, he thought that he should have asked if the patient had blood in her stool and called her. The patient is in the emergency room two hours later with a perforated ulcer. She needs emergency surgery, but stomach contents had leaked into her abdominal cavity, causing peritonitis which led to sepsis and damage to her liver and kidneys. The scene is now six months later, and the diagnostic team is working with Stacy Warner to prepare for a hearing before a peer review disciplinary hearing. Stacy resists working with House, but Cuddy points out that since lawsuits against House generate 40% of the hospital's legal work, she can't work at Princeton-Plainsboro unless she deals with him.

Cameron begins a "friends with benefits" relationship with Chase in Season 3 after the episode Insensitive. Chase begins to fall for Cameron, but she does not return his feelings. A moment in Fetal Position clarifies Chase's feelings for Cameron when a patient remarks that she had "never seen him glow" like he does in a picture taken while gazing at a picture of her (Cameron). However, when he informed her that he wanted to take their relationship forward, she ended it. Despite Cameron's refusal to reconcile, Chase asks her out every Tuesday, saying "It's Tuesday... I like you." In Control, Chase makes a stupid, but luckily harmless mistake.

However, Chase had a rough relationship with both his absent father and alcoholic mother. His mother couldn't handle young Chase, while she was drunk, so she ended up locking him in his father's office. After he gave up banging on the door and crying, he read his father's books which is why he went on to study medicine (Parents). When Chase's father left the family, 15-year-old Chase was forced to care for his mother until her death which is approximately 10 years before Season 1. Dealing with his mother helped him empathize with Luke Palmeiro, another teenager who was trying to deal with a parent who couldn't care for herself. Dean of Medicine and complex romantic interest to House, Lisa Cuddy bent the rules and sidelined HR complaints for House in the name of diagnostics — or was it nepotism?

Jennifer Morrison (Allison Cameron)

House's best and only friend, Head of Oncology Dr. Wilson, would tolerate him for the entirety of the series. The Watson to House's Holmes, it's fair to say Wilson may have suffered the most from House's blatant disregard for common courtesy. Even so, he always managed to stick around, providing House with loyalty, companionship, and oftentimes enabling his addictive behavior — whether he realized it or not. In November 2004, the world was introduced to a misanthropic, cane-wielding, pill-popping medical savant named Dr. Gregory House.

Chase and Cameron come away closer at the end of the episode, with her letting Chase a lot more into her life. In Saviors, Chase breaks off his relationship with Cameron because she had been distant. The reason for her distancing was because she found an engagement ring in his sock drawer and she did not want him to propose solely off the stress of Kutner's recent suicide. In the end, however, she tells Chase that, "[She doesn't] care how it happens, only that it does." He proposes to her, and she accepts. In Under My Skin, Chase is apparently calling off the engagement—or at least indefinitely postponing their marriage—after Chase decides he's unwilling to marry Cameron until she has no doubts about their relationship. At the end of Both Sides Now, Chase and Cameron marry.

However, the incident shows Chase he can never please his demanding boss. In Cursed, Rowan visits the hospital claiming he's in town for a conference, but close observation of his behavior allows House to deduce that he didn't go to conference and in reality, Rowan is dying from terminal lung cancer. Rowan was at the hospital to visit Dr. James Wilson, head of Oncology at Princeton-Plainsboro. Initially, Robert is intensely frustrated with his father's presence, but offers to buy his father a drink at the end of the episode. Rowan declines because he says he does not have time before he leaves again, and leaves without ever revealing to Robert his condition. Rowan also gets House to promise not to tell Robert either.

His father was Rowan Chase, who later became a wealthy and world renowned rheumatologist. Rowan had emigrated to Australia from Czechoslovakia a few years before Robert was born. The name of Chase's mother has never been revealed.

House tells him he's just suffering a reaction from having slept with her. Chase says the patient is throwing away her life and House accuses him of doing the same. He tells Chase not to strip the meaning out of her life. Chase accuses House of trying to screw with him for trying to re-evaluate his life and tells him that he's just trying to make his life miserable so he would be like House. House reminds him that if that was what he really wanted, he would tell Chase to do the same thing he did - make a stupid decision that blows up in his face and leaves him alone.

Chase was the longest serving fellow at the start of the series, having been on the team since 2002. It appears he was interested in the job and his father made a phone call. House admits that he hired Chase after Rowan Chase called him, but has never made his reasons clear.
